How to play Book of Dead
Set coin value and lines; keep all ten active.
Spin. Wins pay left to right.
Three Books anywhere start ten free spins.
A symbol is chosen; when enough land, it expands and pays on every line.
The mechanic
Before the free spins begin, the Book opens to reveal one ordinary symbol. Whenever enough of that symbol land, each expands to cover its reel, and they pay on all lines even if the reels are not side by side. A premium symbol can produce the game's 5,000x maximum. More on expanding symbols.
The maths
Book of Dead returns 96.21% of stakes over the very long run by default, which is a house edge of 3.79%. Its high volatility describes how unevenly that return arrives.

Our view
High volatility with nowhere to hide. The base game is sparse and the feature decides everything.

A typical session is the quietest in our library. The base game pays little. Two Books tease, three open the feature, and everything then rests on which symbol is drawn. A card rank usually means a modest return; a pharaoh or Rich Wilde can mean a great deal or, if it stays away, nothing.
