Short answer: A cluster pays slot awards wins for groups of matching symbols that touch horizontally or vertically, typically five or more. There are no paylines.

Cluster against scatter pays

A cluster needs its symbols joined together. Scatter pays needs only a count, anywhere on the grid. Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus are scatter-pays games, though they are often loosely called cluster slots.

How a spin plays

Clusters pay, vanish, and the symbols above fall into the gaps, often forming new clusters. Bigger clusters pay sharply more than small ones.

What to expect

A quiet base game and features that do most of the paying. Most cluster games are highly volatile.
